I'm Tina Carlisle, Owner and Baker of Roxy & Mya's Dog Bakery

My story begins in May 2016 when I was faced with a serious medical problem. I was having a very bad case of vertigo followed by a diagnosis of a torn artery in my neck. This resulted in me having a stroke. I ended up spending several days in the hospital to relieve the blood clot in my brain.

When I was able to leave the hospital and go home I was now in a situation of several weeks and possibly months of therapy and rehab. As my rehab and therapy began, I knew I  needed to be out walking each day.

I knew at that time that I wanted a little companion to motivate me to walk each day to get back what I had lost. So I started searching for a small dog whom I could have as my walking companion. My family and I searched and finally came across a little Pomeranian puppy that needed to be re-homed. Her name is Mya.

Her previous owner was moving and could not take her with them. I was able to adopt her and bring her into my home as my own. She and I would take walks every day trying to go further and further day by day, thus regaining my balance, strength, and walking abilities.

She is so cute and sweet and I wanted to take good care of her. Because of my background in cake decorating, business management, and food service, I knew I could bake homemade goodies for her. This is where the business began.

Roxy, my sweet little black pug/chihuahua mix with funny ears and a personality to boot, came into our lives and story about 6 months after I got Mya. She was rescued from a terrible situation by my oldest daughter. She became my little "grand-doggie" and a huge part of my daughter's life.

Together Roxy & Mya make up our little mascots for the business. These two have found their way into our lives forever and will always be our best taste testers and sweet little girls.

Kindra

Our business is family owned and operated.

I take care of most of the baking and cake decorating with the help of my daughter Kindra.

My son helps out once in a while making the treats and helps with the Farmer's Market stand.

Roxy's mom, Talisa, and my other grand-doggie's mom Kindra take care of all of the marketing, graphic design, and communication aspects of the business.

My husband is a helper when needed for the Farmer's Market and all special events we do.

We love to meet, greet, and get plenty of puppy kisses from all the four legged friends we meet.
